Fisher & Paykel Highlights Innovative Products for Respiratory Care at MEDICA 2022
By HospiMedica International staff writers Posted on 16 Nov 2022 |

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare (F&P; Auckland, New Zealand) is presenting its innovative products for respiratory care at this year's MEDICA, the world's largest annual medical technology trade fair, which is taking place from 14-17 November in Düsseldorf, Germany.
At MEDICA 2022, Fisher & Paykel is exhibiting its AIRVO 2 humidified high flow therapy system designed to support patients throughout the care continuum. Its wide flow range (2 to 60 L/min) enables use both in the most intensive treatment (intensive care unit/emergency room) and at home. The system comes with an integrated flow generator is portable, eliminating the need for a supply via a loud, heavy compressor or for connection to a stationary gas supply. Also being presented at the event is the F&P 950, a premium class respiratory humidification system that is easy to set up and use, minimizes condensate and offers advanced protection. The F&P 950 system provides consistent humidity even in a wide range of environmental conditions and up to 70 L/min flow rate with Optiflow nasal high-flow therapy.
Fisher & Paykel is also exhibiting Evaqua, the world's first ventilation tubing technology that minimizes mobile condensate in the expiratory limb by diffusing water vapor across the tubing walls. Evaqua technology can potentially reduce the need for hose system interruptions. The advanced ventilation tubing system is user-friendly, reduces condensate build-up to promote a closed system and minimizes the need for intervention. Visitors to Fisher & Paykel’s booth at MEDICA 2022 can also experience the MR850 active respiratory gas conditioning system that ensures a multi-configurable solution for patients requiring respiratory support. The MR850 delivers high flow rates with a humidified gas mixture through the unique Optiflow nasal cannula. This means comfortable delivery of therapy that promotes patient compliance and potentially reduces the intensity of care. In addition, Fisher & Paykel is highlighting its F&P Nivairo full-face mask for non-invasive ventilation (NIV) alongside the Optiflow Junior 2 Nasal Interface which is a non-sealing interface specifically designed to address the flow needs and anatomical characteristics of neonates, infants and children on NHF therapy.
