LVAD Survival Better When Combined with ICD

Researchers at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care System (MN, USA) conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies published in PubMed and OVID databases from January 2000 through October 2015 in order to evaluate the impact of ICDs on mortality in patients with LVADs. Researchers at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (Toronto, Canada), the University of Toronto (Canada), and other institutions conducted a retrospective cohort study based on linked health databases from the province of Ontario (Canada).
