A paperless electrocardiograph (ECG) system delivers faster patient testing and reduces the use of costly ECG paper.
The BeneHeart R12 advanced ECG system is based on the globally recognized Glasgow 12-lead analysis, allowing rapid diagnosis to be made in adults and children from birth and upwards. A new critical values feature shows six warning traces to aid rapid response to potentially urgent issues such as bradycardia, tachycardia, acute ischemia, and myocardial infarction (MI). A novel reanalysis function allows patient information to be entered after the ECG has been taken, automatically adjusting the interpretation to account for age, gender, pathology, and therapeutic profile. Digital pacemaker detection provides reliable report of atrial (A), ventricular (V), and A-V sequential pacing mode, without selecting pacemaker detection sensitivity.
The system features a user-friendly and intuitive panel design that includes features such as an 8-inch high resolution color display, soft and hard functional keys, a QWERTY keyboard layout, and anatomical design; an optional barcode scanner allows rapid input of accurate patient data and demographics. Important features for intensive care unit (ICU) needs include quick start-up (6.5. seconds), a compact and lightweight configuration, an 800 record memory capacity memory, and a long battery life (which supports 400 reports per battery charge duration).
A full print preview image offers instantaneous on-screen review, which helps clinicians decide if an immediate repeat of an ECG recording is needed, as well as allowing data to be sent to the hospital ECG management system or the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR), without requiring a physical printout. But for added usability, the R12 is also equipped with an A4 and letter size thermal paper printer with a patented, paper tray slide mechanism. The BeneHeart R12 advanced ECG system is a product of Mindray (Shenzhen, China).
“We conducted numerous ‘voice of customer’ surveys to shape the development of the BeneHeart R12 and its innovative features satisfy these user demands brilliantly,” said Shen Luo, PhD, team leader of ECG at Mindray.
