Advantech iHealthcare (Milpitas, CA, USA), along with its partners, presented its newest line-up of products and solutions at the 2019 edition of MEDICA, the world's largest trade fair for medical technology, held from 18 to 21 November in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company had three zones in its booth: the iHealthcare zone which showed products geared towards the intelligent and IoT connected hospital; the mDMS (medical Design & Manufacturing Services) zone which demonstrated Advantech as the perfect partner in building and designing custom medical devices; and the partner zone which showcased medical solutions for various application scenarios.

Within its iHealthcare Solutions, Advantech presented Point-of-Care (POC) solutions with the POC-W243 medical-grade POC computer with 6th Generation Intel Skylake processors and internal power supply. Advantech’s fanless medical computer series with medical safety certifications support multi-touch screen and can be simply integrated with existing equipment configurations. The energy-saving medical computer delivers a high computing performance for enhancing healthcare services. The lightweight and slim system design enables POC terminals to be flexibly mounted in diverse locations to serve as OR dashboards, equipment control panels, and ICU information displays, providing critical data to medical staff to assist with life-saving decision-making.

The company also presented its new AIM-55 medical grade tablet with Windows 10 and Android support, with functionalities that can be easily expanded with the addition of diverse extension modules. Advantech's AIM-55 features a stylish appearance and advanced computing technologies to provide a superior device for mobile computing in healthcare environments. Designed to streamline hospital workflows and improve patient care, the system's unique expandable design and flexible hardware/software configuration has garnered support from clinicians and nursing staff worldwide.

At MEDICA 2019, Advantech showcased its new iPS-M100 mobile power system equipped with two hot-swappable power modules that can support a range of mobile care devices. The provision of hot-swappable capabilities enables care providers to replace the battery without turning off the device, greatly reducing interruptions and system downtime. The system can also be integrated with an optional battery charging station to ensure reliable 24-hour power supply. Advantech’s iPS-M100 system is lightweight and features a fanless cooling mechanism that protects against water and dust ingress to thereby extend the product lifecycle.

Among Advantech’s other products highlighted at this year’s MEDICA were medical surgery displays from Advantech Kostec and its 4K near-zero latency video streaming solution for hospitals.
