Over 5,000 exhibitors from around 120 countries will come together to participate in MEDICA 2016 (Düsseldorf, Germany), the world’s leading medical trade fair.
MEDICA 2016, which will take place concomitantly with COMPAMED 2016 (Düsseldorf, Germany) from November 14 – 17, 2016, at the 19 halls of the Messe Düsseldorf (Germany) fairgrounds, will allow top healthcare sector decision-makers to appraise the latest innovations advancing the digitalization of healthcare, which is continuing at an unstoppable rate in all fields of outpatient and clinical care.
Wearable technology and smartphones that link to health apps, in particular, have the potential of becoming an indispensable element of networked health in the future. In this context, numerous new products have been already presented at MEDICA 2015 and countless other mobile health applications are currently under development, with a specific focus on cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and remote monitoring of therapies. The topic of big data also presents opportunities in healthcare digitalization.
Held parallel with MEDICA, COMPAMED, staged for the 25th time, will feature about 800 exhibitors, and will focus this year on complex high-tech solutions for mobile diagnosis, monitoring and therapy systems, including smart sensors and energy storage systems for use in wearables, microtechnology applications for intelligent implants and printed electronics, as well as subcontracting and outsourcing of services for all elements of the process chain. To accommodate toe projected 20,000 visitors, COMPAMED will be extended by one day.
“The exhibitor registrations so far are showing that the very high level of participation in 2015 can be expected again this year, indicating a high level of satisfaction among exhibitors with the new show days of the event, held from Monday to Thursday,” said Joachim Schäfer, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf. “This can also be seen in the high rate of repeat bookings. Once again, we expect a turnout of more than 800 exhibitors in the fully booked COMPAMED halls, 8a and 8b.”
In addition to the exhibitors’ products, MEDICA 2016 visitors can get information on the digital future of the healthcare sector at lectures and presentations at the MEDICA Connected Healthcare Forum and the MEDICA Health IT Forum. As in the past, only one entrance pass is necessary to visit both MEDICA and COMPAMED 2016.
